So Long Utah, Hello Colorado

We've been in Colorado now for two weeks, and it's been surprisingly really great! While the move was stressful (especially with a little monster running around), we are finally feeling settled. Leaving Utah was hard, we loved our little house, we loved the friendships we had built, we loved being close to family, and I really loved my job at O.C. Tanner. We had spent our entire relationship together in the Provo/Orem area, and leaving it behind wasn't easy. Luckily our friends and family helped us pack up our house, load up our truck, and my in-laws came with us on the long drive to Denver to help with getting our second car here and helping keep Olivia entertained while I drove.

Arriving in Denver, we started getting unpacked and had a lot of help. My in-laws and my aunt and her family all helped us unload the truck and start getting things put in place. We are so appreciative of the help we received, this move would've been so much harder without the care of family. It was nice having the past two weeks to get settled and get to know the area before Derek started school.

We lucked out, and some other members of our church live right underneath us, and they have been great at welcoming us to the area. They have young children as well, so we have become fast friends. Our ward (church congregation) is amazing as well, and we have already made many friends and I've met a lot of other moms with kids close in age with Olivia. With working from home, I was worried I would go crazy being home all the time with no adult interaction like I'm used to, but it looks like we will have a lot of friends and things to do in our spare time.

Derek started school today and had orientation last week. He is really enjoying it so far, and we took some time to explore Denver before school would completely consume his life. I know it's only been two weeks, but I can honestly say we love Denver and are really excited for the next four years here.

We also celebrated our 4 year anniversary on the 23rd and it's nice having some family nearby who were willing to take Olivia for a few hours. The past 4 years have brought a lot of new experiences and adventures, and I have no doubt that the next 4 years will be just as eventful, if not more so. I love the time we have spent together, and wouldn't want to go through life with anyone other than Derek.

Thanks for tuning in to this little update, I'll probably do an update on all of our fun summer adventures in the next week or so. I also redid the design of my blog, so hopefully this posts correctly and it all looks good since it was my first time messing with html code. Let me know what you think, until next time✌
